In today’s blog I analyse Ex-Mclaren,Ferrari and Williams driver Alain Prost and Ex-Tyrrell Ford driver Jackie Stewart and why there are both number 7 and number 8 on my top 10 Formula 1 drivers of all time list. The reason i put Frenchman Alain Prost in my top 10 is because you just cannot deny the 4 F1 drivers titles that he has won and in the [mostly] elegant manner he won those titles especially his title in the 1985 Formula 1 season with Mclaren and the 1993 Formula 1 season which was his last with the Williams Renault team. But the reason i do not rank Prost higher is because of the disgraceful way he beat Ayrton Senna in 1989 and his lucky F1 world title win against the unfortunate Williams Honda driver Nigel Mansell which for me does rank heavily against Prost.
When it comes to the Scottish driver Jackie Stewart the reason he makes the top 10 for me is because of the undeniable 3 F1 world drivers titles which he won in very dominant style and managed to beat the formidable duo of Emerson Fittipaldi and Colin Chapman at Lotus. The other reason he makes the list is because of the brilliant work Stewart did to make Formula 1 a lot more safer. But the reason he isnt higher on the list is because he quite frankly did not continue on long enough to fulfill his fullest potential as an Formula 1 driver as he could have won at least 5 F1 drivers world championships. But it is undeniable that both Sir Jackie Stewart and Alain Prost absolutely deserve to be inside of this top 10 list due to the unforgettable moments they have both provided and the good work they have done for the good of Formula 1.
